EGTH AD 2.19  RADIO NAVIGATION AND LANDING AIDS

EGTH AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1  Airport Regulations
  1. PPR via the weblink - https://oldwardenaerodrome.co.uk/ppr-booking-form. Pilots use the aerodrome at their own risk and are required to read and accept the Terms and Conditions. For all other facilities see - https://www.shuttleworth.org.

  2. Based operators may fly outside of notified hours.

  3. A standard overhead join must be made at 1800 FT AAL.

  4. Aircraft operators must transmit their intentions, including standard position reports, when Old Warden Information Service is not operational.

2  Ground Movement
  1. Do not backtrack runways, vacate the runway to the North West.

  2. Aircraft must be parked well clear of the end and sides of Runway 12/30 at the NW end where manoeuvring space is limited.

  3. Old Warden Information Service can be visually identified as being operational when a flag is hoisted at the tower.

3  CAT II/III Operations

Not applicable

4  Warnings
  1. Avoid overflying Home Farm immediately to the East of the aerodrome.

  2. Birds of prey, including kites, in the vicinity.

  3. Model aircraft may operate at times.

  4. Non-radio aircraft may conduct flight trials or display practise. Visiting pilots must keep a good look out and remain clear until safe to join.

  5. Caution: Runway 02X/20X extension, unmarked runways, and other unmarked surfaces are not available to aircraft except with approval from the Aerodrome Authority (conditions apply).

  6. With moderate and higher wind speeds, pilots should expect to encounter sink/turbulence on the approach to, and climb out from, all runways. Furthermore, pilots are also reminded that in moderate and higher wind speeds the wind gradient close to the surface can result in loss of airspeed and lift during the landing flare. In the past these effects have caught out highly experienced pilots be they flying heavy warbirds, or microlight type aircraft.

  7. Trees intersect the 20 approach and 02 climb out.

5  Helicopter Operations
  1. Helicopters must land airside of spectator fence and join as per fixed wing operations.

6  Use of Runways
  1. Only Runway 02/20 is available to visiting aircraft. Other runways may be in use by based aircraft conducting test flights or practise display.

  2. 02X/20X only available with approval of Aerodrome Authority (conditions apply).

7  Training
  1. No training permitted except with the written permission of the Aerodrome Authority.

EGTH AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

  1. Pilots should avoid overflight of all local villages where possible.

EGTH AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

1  Circuits
  1. Circuit Height: 800 FT.

  2. Circuit Direction: Runway 20 LH, Runway 02 RH.

  3. All aircraft to make a full overhead join at 1800 FT AAL to allow any model flying to cease.
